Jazz
Jazz is an exciting and ever-evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, passion, and life. Steeped in the rhythm of jazz music, a true American art form, jazz dance brings energy and life to all those who dance it. Classes explore body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet, and arms and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style. Jazz can be powerful and percussive or expressive and lyrical. Ever evolving, jazz dance is taught with the music of today together with the classical jazz of yesterday.
Ballet
Is truly the foundation for all dance. Ballet teaches self-discipline, poise, strength, and gracefulness. Students are taught all the basic principles of classical ballet. This class concentrates on techniques taught at the ballet barre, center floor, adagio, jumps and turns.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a type of dance form which fuses modern dance, jazz, and ballet. Lyrical dance is often referred to as contemporary dance. It requires excellent technique to perform, as the moves are often difficult and precise. Moreover, the dancer must be well aware of facial expressions, essentially acting, to properly perform a lyrical dance piece.
Tap
Hip Hop is growing more and more each year among teens and young adults. It is what you see on MTV today. This style of dance has been around since the ’70s and it gets more popular by the year.
